Interested in Volunteering?
Volunteers enable our center to provide services to sexual assault survivors in the Baton Rouge community on a 24-hour basis. Our volunteers staff our 24-hour crisis hotline and provide support and counseling to sexual assault survivors at the hospital during forensic medical exams.
Volunteering at the Rape Crisis Center is a great way to develop counseling skills, learn crisis intervention techniques, and help others in your community whose lives have been torn apart by sexual violence. By becoming a volunteer you become active in a movement to end sexual violence.
The Rape Crisis Center has two training sessions per year, typically in the spring and fall. All sexual assault advocates must go through a 40-hour training. Anyone interested in volunteering can contact the office at 225-389-3456 for a volunteer application.
